Frequently Asked Questions
- I can't hear any sound effects.
- Tackt's sound respects your device's physical silent switch (and the Control Center mute toggle) by design — check the bell icon in Control Center, and make sure the ring/silent switch on the side of your device isn't set to silent. Also confirm your volume isn't turned all the way down.
- How does Race mode work?
- Race mode connects two nearby devices directly over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth — no shared Wi-Fi network is required, and no internet connection is needed either. Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both switched on for the two devices to find each other. One player hosts, the other joins, then both play the exact same sequence of targets at the same moment.
- My race disconnected mid-game — did I lose my progress?
- No — if a connection drops mid-race, Tackt automatically pauses and tries to reconnect for up to a minute before giving up, so a brief signal hiccup won't end your race early.
- How is my score calculated?
- Every successful hit earns points, with a PERFECT hit worth roughly double a good OK hit. Consecutive PERFECTs build a streak for a scoring bonus, and tapping early in a round earns a speed bonus on top. Difficulty (Easy/Normal/Hard) scales the total as well. See the Complete Guide for the exact formula and a worked example.
- Does Tackt require an account or internet connection?
- No — Tackt has no sign-in and no accounts. Everything is stored locally on your device, and Race mode connects device-to-device directly rather than through the internet.
- I found a bug, or have a feature suggestion.
- We'd love to hear about it — email us at [email protected] with as much detail as you can (what happened, what you expected, and your device model if relevant).
